Storm Knocks Out Power To Hundreds, Brings Down Trees In Fairfield County

A severe storm that swept through Fairfield County late Tuesday afternoon resulted in downed trees and wires and has knocked out power to hundreds of homes and businesses.

Norwalk and New Canaan were especially hard hit. There are 572 customers without power in Norwalk and 400 in New Canaan at 6:30 p.m., according to Eversource. Elsewhere, 37 lost power in Wilton

A Tornado Watch is in effect until midnight as the chance for storms and showers continues.
